Permits required

In the central part of the Oregon state you find the Three Sisters Wilderness area. However, you may need permits to visit some parts. Here are three important ones:

  1. Wilderness Permits: Overnight trips in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area require a wilderness permit. You can obtain them at any of the ranger stations or visitor centers around the place. Permits in spite of being free, are required to help manage visitor usage and protection of the wilderness area.
  2. Campfire Permits: If you plan to have a campfire in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area, you will need a permit for doing so. These permits are as well free and can be obtained at any of the ranger stations or visitor centers in the area.
  3. Recreation Passes: Some parts in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area require a special recreation pass. For example, if you plan to park at a trailhead or visit certain day-use areas, you will need a recreation pass. These ones, unlike the previous two, can be purchased online, at ranger stations or in the visitor centers.

Beside booking accommodation, or planning what to do while there,It’s always best to check ahead of time to see if any permits are required for the specific activities you are seeking and to obtain them in advance to ensure a smooth trip.
